GOD GETS THE GLORY...and the devil gets EXPOSED!! |
The first band that was considered to be a 'christian rock' band was a group called Mind Garage in 1967. Under the guidance of Rev. Michael Paine, a West Virginia University campus minister, they began writing rock music for the church with "a serious intent to get the music across." They took their rock into churches and assisted in communion with the music. Mind Garage came straight from the taverns and were known to use heavy psychedelic drugs during their shows. The new music they created was termed Electric Liturgy or sometimes called Electric Mass. In mid 1968, the newspaper The Village Voice dubbed the phrase 'theo-rock' as it related this brand new genre to the Mind Garage. Mind Garage set out to make contemporary religious music and their plan became successful "...church after church, and state after state, and broke down the barriers between church and rock and roll, creating an enviroment where a whole new genre of music could thrive." Today this music is called 'christian rock'. Though origianlly created in an Episcopalian church, this music was quickly transformed into inter-denominational unholy worship. Now our churches are attempting to usher in the very presence of God Almighty with this filth. We are taking the things of the world and trying to bring them into the house and throne room of God. As you entered a church service where Mind Garage was playing you would receive the
yellow bulletin located below. It is a picture of the band sitting around a naked woman.
[No More Ministries has covered her for decency sake.] Next to that is a bulletin of Mind
Garage in 2007, called Goodstock 2007. Again, you see the same nude woman (covered up by No
More Ministries). It's been 40 years since Mind Garage started to play 'chrisitan rock'.
They haven't changed. So influenced who? Obviously, Mind Garage influenced the church,
but the Church did not influence Mind Garage.
The Lord has shown me how the church would embrace the music of the world and try to bring it into the gospel. God doesn't want a song that people have used and abused drugs and alcohol to, or committed fornication or adultery to, because that very song promoted such things. Many of these musicians got high and wrote the music and had it channeled through them. God does not want it in His house. He is the creator, and He wants music that was inspired
by Him.
